Drill is definitely something that you’ve rarely seen on here because it isn’t something that I connected with straight away -for years even. Maybe it was the artists, maybe it was the lyrics, maybe it was the flow, but one thing I knew for certain is that I’ve always been intrigued by the beats, those producers have got groove defining techniques. I feel like it was missing a certain je ne sais quoi, that sprinkle of charisma and balance of energy as opposed to the flow that a lot of people seem to use. Besides the like of RV and Headie who mastered and fathered the style [feel free to correct me], I really wanted to hear someone who was a lot less laid back and more energetic and to my surprise I came across this guy, JB Scofield’s track L.I.T.

The visuals are next level. The untrained eye may see and compare the location to countless other videos however what makes it stand out from the others is the way it was shot. So much detail has gone into maximising each frame and cut to convey the sense of energy, Gugzay uses a great sense of movement and energy which results in a sorta wavey rollercoaster ride to the beat produced by Rxckson. Everyone in the video looks like they’re having fun and that energy is infectious to viewer and listener.

I gotta get up to speed on some of their other pieces!
