20yrs ago this month of September, Nokia launched its 3310 which went on to sell 126m units.

This was my 2nd mobile phone which was an upgrade to my old BT Cellnet phone box looking phone. It’s also how I had two numbers going to one sim after moving from BT Cellnet to One2One which then became T-Mobile which then became EE.

This was the era of free calls when the network went down, 120 character texts, 10 texts on the sim and 100 contacts because the phones had no internal storage for user content.

Nokia ruled the roost but focused on Talk as opposed to lifestyle. None of the 60 different models set itself apart from the next, I’d love to find out more about the journey of their brand through the years.
